Marnie Anderson, Secretary/Treasurer

Marnie, a retired Chartered Accountant, graduated from Acadia University with a Bachelor of Business Administration.  She worked at various locations of The Bank of Nova Scotia before embarking on her career as a Chartered Accountant, receiving her designation in 1984.  She worked for Thorne Riddell (now Peat Marwick) in Newfoundland, Halifax and Dartmouth and Clarkson Gordon (now Ernst & Young) in Halifax, where she specialized in income tax.  While in Halifax, she was also a part time instructor of Accounting at Saint Mary’s University.  She relocated to New Glasgow in 1993, where she set up her own accounting practice and continued her teaching with St. Francis Xavier University for several years.   Marnie retired from her practice in 2009.

She co-hosts an annual fundraiser for The Mental Health Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital and served as co-chair of the 2012 United Way of Pictou County fundraising campaign.
